How to listen through a sound card
To listen to the Quicktime streams through a multi-channel sound card you will need to have your soundcard/speakers configured for 5.1 playback.
On OSX, it should be possible to configure your sound card for 5.1 or 'quadraphonic' playback using the 'Audio MIDI Setup' utility.
If you do not have access to a multi-channel speaker setup, then Quicktime will automatically fold the rear channels into the front channels, for stereo listening.
